Dr. Karim Al-Azizi is an Interventional Cardiologist and Structural Heart Disease specialist at Baylor Scott & White Health - The Heart Hospital in Plano, TX. During his training he served as chief resident and chief interventional fellow and also received several awards in research and clinical excellence. His clinical interests are complex coronary interventions, chronic total occlusion intervention, transcatheter heart valve replacement, septal defect closures, left atrial appendage closures. In his busy practice he serves patients from North Texas and surrounding areas. He was named the best doctor in Dallas for several years. He is well published in the field of coronary and structural intervention and principal investigator in several national and global clinical research trials. He is the President of Cardiology at the Royal Society of Medicine and is the Communication Lead for the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society. He works at the Hammersmith Hospital as an Interventional Cardiologist and is an expert in Coronary Physiology. His PhD research focused on the development of instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR) pullback and co-registration. He has published over 100 original academic papers and has involved in the DEFINE-FLAIR, SYNTAX-II and ORBITA-1 and ORBITA-2 research studies.

Nils Johnson, MD, MS, is a Professor of Medicine and holds the Weatherhead Distinguished Chair of Heart Disease at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth (Houston). After his undergraduate degree in Vancouver, he completed medical school at Columbia University in Manhattan and trained at Northwestern University in Chicago. He is an "interventional physiologist" and his research and clinical interests span both invasive (mentored by Dr. Nico Pijls in Eindhoven) and non-invasive (mentored by Dr. Lance Gould in Houston) methods. Dr. Evan Shlofmitz is an Interventional Cardiologist and the Director of Intravascular Imaging at St. Francis Hospital - The Heart Center in Roslyn, NY. He completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Georgetown University/MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He previously completed an Intravascular Imaging and Physiology fellowship at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) and Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC), a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Northwell Health and served as Chief Resident for Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Queens. He serves on SCAI's IHD Council and is a co-director of Optimizing PCI (OPCI). His research interests have centered on intravascular imaging, the treatment of calcified coronary artery disease, in-stent restenosis and the optimization of stent implantation, with more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

He achieved his undergraduate work at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX and his combined MD/PhD at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center in 2009. He was then accepted to the clinical research track at Mayo in Rochester, MN. He concluded the second year of a combined interventional/structural cardiology fellowship after finishing an ABIM-sponsored clinical investigator program affiliated with Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship. Additionally, Jay has completed the selective Mayo Clinic Physician Scientists Clinical Research Certificate program. Jay completed his Internal Medicine Training in June of 2012, general cardiology training in 2016, and interventional/structural cardiology training in 2018 with board certifications currently held in all three. His interest in interventional cardiology began in a research lab just before beginning medical school while witnessing a cardiac catheterization procedure (porcine, no less), and has continued to mature as he begins a career as an academic interventionalist. His projects have resulted in over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts and over 60 conference abstracts in the field of vascular biology, coronary physiology, cardiovascular outcomes/prevention, social media, and digital health. Dr. Singh is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Medical Director, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Director of Interventional Cardiology. He specializes in coronary and peripheral vascular interventional procedures and spends most of his time in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. His expertise is in complex coronary intervention and also the endovascular treatment of renovascular hypertension, and peripheral arterial occlusive diseases. In addition, he has been involved in research ranging from new coronary devices to intravascular ultrasound and pressure/flow assessment of coronary vessels. He is the Principal Investigator in several high profile multicenter trials evaluating the above. He is actively involved in resident/fellow education and rotate in the coronary care unit twice a year. He has two interventional fellows per year who work closely with him during their training, he also serves as their attending in ½ day in patient clinic. He has second and third year cardiology fellows involved in clinical research protocols in the cath lab and their work has produced three instrumental abstracts/papers which in the first 12 months were presented at major cardiovascular society meetings. Dr. Singh is also the Chairman of ARCH, one of the largest Midwest Interventional Symposium.

Dr. Shah conducts clinical translational research and utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of CAD with a focus on optimization of the underlying inflammatory and glucometabolic milieu. She was a KL2 Scholar, recipient of the AHA Clinical Research grant, and PI of the NIH-funded Colchicine-PCI trial and ColCorona-US study. Dr. Shah is currently PI of the NIH-funded CLEAR SYNERGY Biospecimen Substudy.
