The Emory Percutaneous Intervention Course is the longest running annual interventional cardiology event in the world. Based on the teachings of founder Dr. Andreas Gruentzig, EPIC has provided training for thousands of interventional cardiologists from the United States and abroad since 1981.
The meeting’s mission is to engage interventional cardiologists and cardiac surgeons specializing in coronary and structural heart disease to further enhance the care of their patients, mentor and train future generations of cardiovascular specialists, and lead front-line clinical research in the field.

Dr. Taylor is a professor of medicine, and Medical Director of Interventional Cardiology and the... Dr. Taylor is a professor of medicine, and Medical Director of Interventional Cardiology and the Coronary Intensive Care Unit at the University of Virginia Heart & Vascular Center. In addition to her expertise in chronic total occlusion interventional cardiology, Dr. Taylor is the PI or Co-investigator on several successful ongoing collaborations with NIH-funded basic science researchers. She has provided human phenotyping in the cardiac catheterization and imaging laboratories, robust data management systems, statistical analysis, and specimen banking. Dr. Taylor has specific expertise in intravascular ultrasound and virtual histology and expertise in statistical analysis of human data including multivariate analysis. She currently directs the coronary care unit and the cardiothoracic surgical intensive care unit. She also specializes in leading culture change across many areas of heart and vascular.
