Read MoreDr. Binita Shah was awarded her MD and MS in Clinical Investigation from NYU School of Medicine, and completed her Interventional Cardiology fellowship at NYU in 2011. Dr. Shah is Associate Director of Research for Interventional Cardiology at NYU. She is also Associate Director of Interventional Cardiology at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System. Dr. Shah conducts clinical translational research and utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of CAD with a focus on optimization of the underlying inflammatory and glucometabolic milieu. She was a KL2 Scholar, recipient of the AHA Clinical Research grant, and PI of the NIH-funded Colchicine-PCI trial and ColCorona-US study. Dr. Shah is currently PI of the NIH-funded CLEAR SYNERGY Biospecimen Substudy. In addition, he has completed extensive training in nuclear cardiology and is certified by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. His clinical interests include coronary artery disease and interventions, peripheral artery disease and interventions, structural heart disease, venous disease, ablation, thrombectomy, pacemaker implantation and interrogation. After finishing his internship and residency training at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Dib went on to complete a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City and a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He is also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. He specializes in coronary and peripheral vascular interventional procedures and spends most of his time in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. His expertise is in complex coronary intervention and also the endovascular treatment of renovascular hypertension, and peripheral arterial occlusive diseases. In addition, he has been involved in research ranging from new coronary devices to intravascular ultrasound and pressure/flow assessment of coronary vessels. He is the Principal Investigator in several high profile multicenter trials evaluating the above. He is actively involved in resident/fellow education and rotate in the coronary care unit twice a year. He has two interventional fellows per year who work closely with him during their training, he also serves as their attending in ½ day in patient clinic. He has second and third year cardiology fellows involved in clinical research protocols in the cath lab and their work has produced three instrumental abstracts/papers which in the first 12 months were presented at major cardiovascular society meetings. He achieved his undergraduate work at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX and his combined MD/PhD at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center in 2009. He was then accepted to the clinical research track at Mayo in Rochester, MN. He concluded the second year of a combined interventional/structural cardiology fellowship after finishing an ABIM-sponsored clinical investigator program affiliated with Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship. Additionally, Jay has completed the selective Mayo Clinic Physician Scientists Clinical Research Certificate program. Jay completed his Internal Medicine Training in June of 2012, general cardiology training in 2016, and interventional/structural cardiology training in 2018 with board certifications currently held in all three. His interest in interventional cardiology began in a research lab just before beginning medical school while witnessing a cardiac catheterization procedure (porcine, no less), and has continued to mature as he begins a career as an academic interventionalist. His projects have resulted in over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts and over 60 conference abstracts in the field of vascular biology, coronary physiology, cardiovascular outcomes/prevention, social media, and digital health. Dr. Widmer has continued all of these research interests while being junior faculty at Baylor Scott and White and has laid the groundwork for long-term success by becoming site principal investigator on multiple trials and building databases in non-obstructive coronary artery disease, chronic total occlusion PCI, cardio-oncology, and quality metrics for acute myocardial infarction. Notably, he was recently appointed the medical director for the BSWRI Central Texas Division, serves on the system-wide CV Governance Council, and was nominated to be in the most recent SCAI Emerging Medical Leaders Cohort.

He specializes in coronary and peripheral vascular interventional procedures and spends most of his time in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. His expertise is in complex coronary intervention and also the endovascular treatment of renovascular hypertension, and peripheral arterial occlusive diseases. In addition, he has been involved in research ranging from new coronary devices to intravascular ultrasound and pressure/flow assessment of coronary vessels. He is the Principal Investigator in several high profile multicenter trials evaluating the above. He is actively involved in resident/fellow education and rotate in the coronary care unit twice a year. He has two interventional fellows per year who work closely with him during their training, he also serves as their attending in ½ day in patient clinic. He has second and third year cardiology fellows involved in clinical research protocols in the cath lab and their work has produced three instrumental abstracts/papers which in the first 12 months were presented at major cardiovascular society meetings. Dr. Singh is also the Chairman of ARCH, one of the largest Midwest Interventional Symposium.
