He has several international collaborations, and is the developer of iFR and the co-principal investigator of the ADVISE studies, the DEFINE-FLAIR, ORBITA and DEFINE-PCI studies. Justin also has an interest in renal denervation, and has lead the first-in-man studies to evaluate the safety of this technique to patients with chronic systolic heart failure (REACH studies).

Dr Dejan Milasinovic is an interventional cardiologist at the Department of Cardiology, Clinical Center of Serbia. He is also an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. His main research interests focus in the fields of the invasive treatment of acute coronary syndromes and complex coronary interventions, with an emphasis on bifurcation PCI and intracoronary guidance. In 2016, Dr Milasinovic received the EuroPCR 2016 Best Abstract award, for a work on the timing of invasive coronary intervention in patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. He is a member of European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) and has served as program committee member of the annual EuroPCR conference. Prof Patrick W. Serruys with respected h-index – 183 is a professor of Interventional Cardiology at the Interuniversity Cardiological Institute of the Netherlands (1988-1998) and Erasmus MC. Since 1980 he was a Director of the Clinical Research Program of the Catheterization Laboratory, Thorax Center at Erasmus University, and till April 1, 2014 (retirement date) the Head of the Interventional Department, Thorax Center, Erasmus MC (University Medical Center Rotterdam), Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Since April 2013, he holds the position of Professor of Cardiology in the Cardiovascular Science Division of the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) at the Faculty of Medicine, within the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London.He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and scientific council of the International College of Angiology.In 1996, he received the TCT Career Achievement Award and in 1997 he was awarded the Wenkebach Prize of the Dutch Heart Foundation. Nicola Ryan is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. She received her medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (2008), followed by Internal Medicine (2011) and Cardiology training (2015) through the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. Thereafter, she completed a prestigious Interventional Cardiology and research fellowship in Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Madrid (2017). Dr Ryan's interests are primarily in the role of intra-coronary physiology and imaging, which she routinely applies in her clinical practice as well as in the clinical interventional research she leads in Aberdeen. She engages as a reviewer for several high impact journals. Dr Ryan is a member of the EuroPCR Scientific Committee and the PCR NextGen group, as well as a member of the European Society of Cardiology fellowship committee.

Dr Nieves Gonzalo is Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Interventional Cardiology Department at Clinico San Carlos University Hospital in Madrid. She obtained her Specialist Certification in Cardiology after training at Clinico San Carlos University Hospital in Madrid. Subsequently, she underwent a research fellowship at Thoraxcenter, Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands) under the supervision of Professor Patrick Serruys, focused mainly in intracoronary imaging and bioabsorbable stents. In 2010 she obtained her PhD with the thesis “Optical coherence tomography for the assessment of coronary atherosclerosis and vessel response after stent implantation”. Her track record includes over 170 articles indexed in PubMed, as well as book chapters in Interventional Cardiology textbooks. Recent research projects as principal investigator includes a study about the assessment of neoatherosclerosis and its clinical impact in patients with restenosis (RIBS IV and V OCT substudy) and research regarding vessel injury and healing evaluation with different stent platforms evaluated with OCT (VISTA study). Dr Gonzalo is a dedicated educationalist with involvement in many areas of complex PCI, serving currently as Deputy Editor for Eurointervention and Committee Member of EuroPCR.

Prof Andrew Sharp qualified from Edinburgh Medical School in 1998 and is Professor of Cardiology at the University Hospital of Wales and Cardiff University in the U.K. He conducted his early training at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, before moving to London for his senior clinical training. He completed the prestigious Milan-Imperial Interventional Cardiology Fellowship programme, having spent a year in San Raffaele and Columbus Hospitals, Milan, Italy, under the tutelage of Professor Antonio Colombo. He also spent three years training in interventional cardiology at Imperial College Hospitals in London. Prof Sharp was awarded an MD postgraduate research degree from the University of Edinburgh for his work on the hypertensive heart and his research interests include intracoronary imaging and physiology. as well as the use of device-based treatments for hypertension and pulmonary embolism.

Jeroen Sonck is co-director of the Cardiovascular Center Aalst in Belgium. He is also director of CoreAalst BV, conducting research mainly in coronary interventions and physiology with a strong focus on innovation. He was trained in UZ Brussels University Hospital, Catharina Hospital Eindhoven and joined the Aalst team in 2018. His main clinical activities concentrate on complex PCI and the use of non-invasive coronary imaging and coronary physiology to guide coronary revascularization. Dr. Sonck has renowned proficiency in coronary CT, CT-derived FFR and was involved in the early development and validation of virtual PCI using the FFR-CT Planner. He participated in innovative research bringing coronary CT in the cathlab (CT-guided PCI) and developed with his colleague Dr. Carlos Collet the Pullback Pressure Gradient describing the pattern of CAD to improve physiology-guided PCI. He served as the PI of several studies. Together with the interventional team in Aalst Jeroen Sonck has already trained multiple fellows in imaging, physiology and PCI.

Prof Goran Stankovic is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, Head of the Department of Cardiology, Clinical Center of Serbia and Chief of Invasive Diagnostics and Interventional Cardiology. Prof. Stankovic was awarded Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) in 2003, and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) in 2005. He has been a member of European Association for Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (EAPCI) since 2007 and is currently a member of the EAPCI Nominating Committee. He has been one of the founding members and is currently the president of the European Bifurcation Club, and a member of the Asian and Indian Bifurcation Clubs. Dr Billal Patel is Head of Interventional Cardiology at Lancashire Cardiac Centre (Blackpool, UK). He trained as a cardiologist in Liverpool, He obtained his PhD in Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction from the University of Liverpool. United Kingdom before moving to the Lancashire Cardiac Centre. He has presented TCT, EuroPCR and ACI. His special interests include ultra low contrast PCI, intracoronary imaging, left main bifurcations, mentorship for trainees and education. Research interests include coronary physiology and microvascular dysfunction. Some of his additional interests are Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and hill walking.

Davide Cao is senior research fellow at the Center for Interventional Cardiovascular Research and Clinical Trials at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, where he is involved in the design and management of randomized clinical trials, prospective registries, and many retrospective studies. Davide Cao graduated in Rome, from Campus Bio-Medico University, and completed his general cardiology training in Milan, at Humanitas University. He is now an interventional cardiology fellow at Institute Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris. His research focuses on coronary stents and management of antithrombotic therapy, particularly in high-risk subsets of patients.

Dr Kambis Mashayekhi is Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Cardiology in Heart Center Lahr in Germany. Dr. Mashayekhi is performing over 350 CTO-PCI’s per year and is an world-renowned CTO and complex PCI specialist. Dr. Mashayekhi is the head of the CTO working group from the German Society of cardiology and the Co-Director of MLCTO and EuroCTO course. He is the new EuroCTO president elect for 2023.

Dr Mauro Echavarría Pinto is an Interventional cardiologist and currently works at “ISSSTE“ General Hospital in Querétaro, México. He trained clinically in the National Institutes of Health, in Mexico City, and in Hospital Clínico San Carlos, in Madrid, Spain. He holds a MSc degree in Research Methodology, Design and Statistics in Health Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, and a PhD from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He is an author of >50 peer-reviewed manuscripts mostly focused on the use of coronary physiology to guide the treatment of ischaemic heart disease.

Dr Vasileios Panoulas is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, part of the Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London. He has clinical expertise that encompasses both general and interventional cardiology. He is a high volume PCI and TAVI (trans catheter aortic valve implantation) operator with interest in complex high risk PCI and use of mechanical circulatory support (MCS) in patients with cardiogenic shock. Dr Panoulas' research interests involve clinical outcomes with new generation TAVI devices, use of MCS in patients presenting with cardiogenic shock, management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and hypertension. Other interests include speckle tracking and hand-held echocardiography and cardiovascular disease in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

Recent board positions include EAPCI board / Education Committee Chair, ESC WG Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation, EuroCTO Board. Recent trials as Principal Investigator include ADVISE II, DEFINE FLAIR, SYNTAX II, PIONEER IV, Cerebral-Coronary-Connection (C3), DCR4Contrast, INOCA LongCovid and AID ANGIO. Additional interests are philosophy and music.

Dr Justin Davies is a honorary 
interventional cardiologist at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College NHS Trust, London. After training at Imperial College, he won a prestigious BHF research fellowship to study arterial haemodynamics. Since then he has continued to
work on the development of mathematical algorithms to aid understanding of large artery physiology and to develop new tools to assess arterial disease. The holder of several patents,
he has published widely in the field of hypertension, coronary and large artery physiology and is the winner of many national and international awards. He has several international collaborations, and is the developer of iFR and the co-principal investigator of the ADVISE studies, the DEFINE-FLAIR, ORBITA and DEFINE-PCI studies. Justin also has an interest in renal denervation, and has lead the first-in-man studies to evaluate the safety of this technique to patients with chronic systolic heart failure (REACH studies).
