Overview
Dr Davies and Dr Sen perform a live case demonstration from the Hammersmith Hospital London. Using the Medtronic Symplicity Spyral Multi-Electrode catheter system, they perform renal artery denervation in a patient with sympathetic overacitivation. They demonstrate how to perform a safe and effective renal deneravation procedure using the latest branch and trunk denervation procedure.
Learning Objectives
The Symplicity Spyral catheter has 4 gold electrodes which allow simultaneous delivery of radio frequency energy at a depth of 2-6mm. The automated algorithms in the generator box continually monitior temperature and impendence at each electrode to allow simultaneous radio frequency ablation at 4 sites.
- Learn how to perform renal denervation using the Symplicity Spyral catheter
- Best guide cathether and best guide wire to use
- Review approach for safely performing branch denervation
- Understand catheter design and how to deploy safely
- Experience multi-electrode generator, and its application for safe and effective denervation.
Target Audience
- Interventionalists with an interest in renal denervation
- Hypertension specialists
- General practitioners with interest in hypertension management
