He served on the Board of Trustees for the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), was chairman of the Carotid Interventional Committee and a member of the Peripheral Vascular Disease Committee, and Fellows in Training Committee, the American Heart Association Peripheral Vascular Disease Council, and American Heart Association’s Stroke Council. His current research interests involve coronary interventions, carotid stents to prevent stroke, and non-surgical heart valve replacement to avoid open heart surgery. He is an investigator on several clinical research studies. Dr. Collins expertise includes complex coronary, lower extremity, and congenital interventions. Dr. Collins maintains an active clinical referral practice. Dr. Collins is an Associate Professor with Ochsner Clinical School, University of Queensland School of Medicine.
