Raphael Rosenhek

Received his doctorate from the Medical University of Vienna. He trained in internal medicine and cardiology and went on to become an Associate Professor of Cardiology there in 2005. He is now director of the clinic for valvular heart disease at the Medical University of Vienna.

His research interests include structural heart disease, valvular heart disease as well as echocardiography with a particular focus on defining the optimal timing and choice of intervention for these conditions.

Professor Rosenhek also serves on the editorial boards of several cardiological journals. He is the Past-Chairman of the Nucleus of the Working Group on Valvular Heart Disease of the European Society of Cardiology and serves on the programme committees for the European Society of Cardiology meeting and the Euroecho meeting.
