From January 2013 until March 2019 she was in leading position of the Electrophysiological Surgery Unit at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Düsseldorf where her special interest are all kinds of cardiac device and lead-related procedures in adults and children. Since April 2019, she is leading the electrophysiological surgical program at the Duisburg Heart Center. Worldwide proctorships for lead extraction and many hospitations of colleagues from all over the world (incl. via Erasmus programs) indicate her degree of specialization and expertise. At present, her number of complex lead-related procedures is about 300 per year with a steep increase over the past five years. In total, her total number of electrophysiological surgical procedure is about 20.000 including about 3500 complex lead extraction procedure.

Dr Simon Pecha is Head of electrophysiological surgery at Universitäres Herz- und Gefäßzentrum UKE Hamburg, Klinik und Poliklinik für Herz- und Gefäßchirurgie. He is a visting specialist at University of California San Fransisco, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Since 2013 he is Research Group Leader at Cardiovascular Research Center Hamburg and German Center for Cardiovascular Research.
