Dr. Keller is a native of Louisiana. He spent a large part of his early childhood living and being educated in East Africa, as his father moved the family to Kenya to complete his Ph.D. in Political Science, and then to Ethiopia during the revolution so that he could research Ethiopian politics firsthand. He completed high school in Berkeley, California and then attended the University of California in Los Angeles for his undergraduate studies, and subsequently Duke University School of Medicine where he graduated with honors. Dr. Keller completed his general surgery internship, residency and research fellowship at Tulane School of Medicine, where he participated actively in various experimental and clinical research projects. His thoracic and cardiovascular surgery residency was completed at the Carolinas Heart Institute (Sanger Clinic)in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Keller is board certified in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. Dr. Keller is author or co-author of more than 40 scholarly publications, presentations, book chapters and abstracts, and has participated in countless experimental and clinical studies. Thus, he is intimately aware of and involved in the application and development of cutting edge technology, and dedicated to providing access to the best that medicine has to offer for his patients. He has also received scores of prestigious awards including: the Tulane School of Medicine Owl Club Award of Excellence in Teaching, the Robicsek Traveling Fellowship (Lahr, Germany) and numerous others. He maintains membership in the American College of Surgeons, The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, The Southern Thoracic Surgeons Association, and numerous other professional organizations. His professional interests include valvular heart disease, minimally invasive valve surgery and endovascular surgery for aortic aneurysms. As a devoted father and family man, Dr. Keller has long had interest in reaching out to children in his community in an effort to show them that the world is much bigger than the one they see every day. Over the years he has been involved in various activities and fund raising efforts including associations with The Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Climbing for Kids, both charities that inspire kids to test their limits.

He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed his residency at Washington University, St. Louis followed by fellowships at Cleveland Clinic and NYPH/Columbia University. Dr. Kendra Grubb is the surgical director of the Emory Structural Heart and Valve Center. Prior to joining Emory in 2018, she was the director of minimally invasive cardiac surgery and the surgical director of the heart valve program at the University of Louisville. Dr. Grubb is a champion for combating women's heart disease and is dedicated to improving the lives of all patients, both male and female, through innovation and by building collaborative teams to promote a patient-centered approach to the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Dr. Grubb has led and participated in multiple clinical trials of innovative cardiac surgery technologies, including studies of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), MitraClip percutaneous therapy, and the GORE conformable TAG thoracic endoprosthesis for the primary treatment of aneurysms of the descending thoracic aorta. Dr. Grubb received her MD degree from the Keck School of Medicine and her Master of Health Administration from the Sol Price School of Public Policy. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, her fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and her fellowship in interventional cardiology and transcatheter therapies at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.

Kim was recruited for the role of TAVR Coordinator years ago and has established and grown the TAVR program at BIDMC. She has 20 years of nurse practitioner experience in the areas of cardiology and cardiac surgery as well as over 30 years critical care experience overall. She speaks at national meetings in the areas of structural heart, and is faculty at national symposiums developing the role of the coordinator. She holds a Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Masters of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University, Washington DC. She completed her Nurse Executive Leadership Doctorate program at Simmons University, Boston MA. She has several publications including a chapter contribution in the book titled TAVR Program Development: A Guide for the Heart Team.

Martin B. Leon, MD is Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). Dr. Leon is also Director of Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care, Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories, and is on the Executive Board of the Columbia Structural Heart & Valve Center. He is a practicing interventional cardiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Dr. Leon is also the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. Dr. Leon has served as principal investigator for over 50 clinical trials that have helped shape the field of interventional cardiovascular medicine, including the following studies: STRESS, STARS, Gamma-one, SIRIUS, ENDEAVOR, and most recently, the PARTNER trial, studying the value of transcatheter valve therapy for patients with aortic stenosis. Dr. Leon has co-authored over 1550 publications, has performed over 10,000 interventional procedures, and has had a major impact as a thought-leader and innovator in the expanding sub-specialty of interventional cardiovascular device and drug therapies. He is the Director and Founder of Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), the world’s premier interventional cardiovascular meeting, which recently celebrated its 24th anniversary. Dr. Leon has also served as Director or Co-Director of more than 100 international educational programs in areas of interventional cardiology.
